He's speaking at a rate which melds all his words together, nearly on top of of each other, and allows for no pauses whatsoever. Papers shuffling around at a similar rate can also be heard. Whoever he's speaking to obviously is not being given time to respond.]

--it's alright. Just-- here, listen, I need you to put in this new prescription for [shuffle] this patient, reschedule the biopsy for [shuffle] this one, increase the dosage on [shuffle] this one, and find alternate treatment options for [shuffle] this one-- we're just not getting the response that we'd hoped for. [The ultimate shuffling as the files get handed over.] Got that? Good. You've got it. Yes. I've got to get to the clinic-- look, there are notes, okay? Everything is written down-- you can page me if you have questions-- I have to go. Okay. Right.

[And off he goes. And now his device turns off. And on. And off. And on.

Wait, what is he doing? Not pausing in his highly accelerated walking through the hospital hallways, he pulls the device out and looks at it.]

Oh-- sorry, I'm sorry. I hadn't meant to post anything, it's-- my hand was just, it was in my pocket, and. Well, sorry. I have to go, just-- sorry about that.

What? No-- of course I'm not high, I just-- I think my coffee may have been a little stronger than usual. That's all. If-- if anything.

It can't be that bad. Is it? It doesn't seem that-- well, to me it doesn't seem that bad, but I suppose it would be less apparent to me than to anyone else. Really, though, I think my coffee was just a little on the strong side. It doesn't seem like it's that bad. I don't think it is.

Of course not. I did go to medical school, after all. This just doesn't seem that bad to me, honestly-- though, judging from the responses I'm getting, it must be. I just can't account for it is all, I didn't drink nearly enough for anything like the reaction I'm getting.

Do I? Well, I guess I must, if everyone's telling me so. I'm just feeling a bit active and alert today is all, but I suppose it must be more noticeable than I thought.

Well. How are you doing? You do have someone who's looking after you, don't you?

[Fortunately, Wilson's also the sort who knows everyone's names; even if he hasn't spoken to them directly, he does make a point to learn who everyone is. Which is why he goes for confirmation first.]

Hm? Oh, yes, yes-- Rory, isn't it? Well, thank you, yes, I'm fine, just... a bit on the busy side, that's all, really. I do suppose I might be a little bit on the harried side of rushed today.

What do you mean? It's all very straightforward, actually, and there are notes detailing everything-- besides, they know they can ask me if they have any trouble. Really, though, the staff here is excellent, I'm sure they won't have any problem with any of it, it's all quite basic.

It's strange, I didn't even have much coffee today-- it was only a couple of cups, really, and typically that's not enough to do much of anything to me. It may have been a bit on the strong side, but I can't imagine why it would have had this much of an effect. It clearly has, though, since everyone seems to be saying essentially the same thing.

Actually, I think I've managed to get everything taken care of now. Department staff have all the files and notes for everything that needed looking after and I'm off to the clinic to put in a few hours there, so while I certainly have a good deal going on, I think it's actually all under control. Which is certainly a feat. I do appreciate the offer, though, really, thank you.

Am I? It doesn't quite seem that way, though I'm certainly not the one who should be making that call. It would make sense, though, with the rest of the reactions I'm getting today. I just can't quite account for it.
