Well, I can't claim that I'm not among the crowd grateful that October is drawing to a close. I would say it's ill-advised to draw too much of a sigh of relief, here, but I sincerely doubt things will be any better or worse for us having enjoyed a moment of relative calm. We may as well seize the moments of relative normalcy that we do have while we have them; it makes getting through the more difficult times just a bit easier.

I just hope everyone is all right now, or at least on their way in that direction.

Oh, and House? The bowl of candy by the door is highly poisonous to diagnosticians. I'd avoid it if I were you.

I've actually... had a question on my mind for a while, and it keeps being brought back up as a result of various curses and events. Now, by all means, nobody at all should feel obligated to respond to it if it's not something you'd like to think about, especially in light of recent events. The last thing I want is for anyone to unnecessarily dwell upon anything they'd rather not think about.

But... it seems to be common knowledge that, if you die here, you're somehow unable to return home. The exception seems to be that if you die under extenuating circumstances and return to life, fully, you're not restricted in the same way.

However, it seems that things aren't entirely the same under those circumstances as if you hadn't died at all. Curses which affect the dead, whether they've died in their own worlds or in the City, can also affect, either fully or partially, those who died and have been returned to life here. Meanwhile, even those who are dead leave the City, and go... well, somewhere we have no way of knowing.

It's just... since this all seems to be just a common understanding and I'm not entirely certain where any of it really originated, I'm curious about what we actually know, if anything, about dying here, about... the differences, between coming back with a pulse or without. If there is one, aside from the obvious.
